- Allied:

- Cruisers: Can shoot 3 screens away , the closer it is the better the aiming.
- Cronoshift it near an enemy's base and Destroy what you can
- IE: AA guns / Sam sites and Then send in the planes

- Cronosphere: Cronoshift a Cruiser near an enemy's base
- Sometimes it will make a rip in time that looks like a electrical whirlpool called a Chronal vortex where
- you send your units and will attack units with electrical energy but there's a 1 in 5 chance on having a
- Chronal vortex, and 1 in 5 chance in having a Time Quake
- You can't send Troops or a APC full of troops it won't even send troops and will kill the guys in the
- APC.
- Ever see the Movie "The Philadelphia Experiment"

- Light Tanks:
- Thanks to (Brenn Smith) B.Smith@zds.com:
- One of the great tactics in C&C was to build NOD bikes as
- fast as possible and just keep them pumping. You could take out a
- base QUICK and early in the game. Obviously there are no NOD bikes in
- RA, but light tanks work just as well. Light tanks are QUICK and can
- rush past base defenses quickly to take out a construction yard. Just
- start build light tanks as early as possible and keep cranking them
- out. I've tried it. It works great!

- Soviet:

- Attack Dogs: Don't put them in a place where a tank and the dog will attack the same unit, the dog will
- jump to attack the unit and the tank will shoot at the guy killing the dog.

- V2 Rocket: They will fire farther when there guarding then if you tell them to attack a unit

- Both Sides:
-
- Engineers: Can Take a Building When its Red.
- Can Repair a building to Green.

- Spies: Watch out! The enemy spies look like your troops and only dogs will auto attack them. You have
- to tell your units to attack them.
- Watch for your color units moving around when you cant select them.
- Send your spies into an Allied base so you can see through a Gap Generator.

- Thieves: You can Steal money from enemy silos and Refineries.

- 6. Features
- Bridges can be blown up
- You see Kane when you play soviets!

- 7. Keys
- Way Points: Hold the "Q" key and click where you want him to go.
- Select all units on screen: Hit the "E" key.
- Formations: you *have* to follow this procedure to make a formation:
- 1. move the units into formation
- 2. select all of them
- 3. make them into a group (Ctrl + number)
- 4. press F (you will see something like 3F in the boxes)
- Press F again to break formation

- For Some reason the AI in Multi-Player Will not build Ships L

- 9. Maps
- The map sizes are much bigger (94X94, 64X64, 128X64, 64X128)
- Red Alert comes with it's own Map Maker
- You can build things like turrets and other attack building 2 squares apart
- There is a new Terrain Arctic Like In Warcraft 2
- There's also levels inside buildings

- 10. Multi-Player
- There are 5 Countries with different strengths
- Allied England - Armor
- Allied Germany - Shot power
- Allied France - Shot Rate
- Soviet Russia - Cost
- Soviet Ukraine - Speed

- Parrabombs: Why can't I get them in Multi-Player? There in crates you can't just build a airstrip.

- 11. Crates
- Here is a list of every thing you can get in a crate.

- Armor - armor of nearby objects increased (armor multiplier)
- Cloak - enable cloaking on nearby objects
- Darkness - cloak entire radar map
- Explosion - high explosive baddie (damage per explosion)
- Firepower - firepower of nearby objects increased (firepower multiplier)
- HealBase - all buildings to full strength
- ICBM - nuke missile one time shot
- Money - a chunk o' cash (maximum cash)
- Napalm - fire explosion baddie (damage)
- ParaBomb - para-bomb raid one time shot
- Reveal - reveal entire radar map
- Sonar - one time sonar pulse
- Speed - speed of nearby objects increased (speed multiplier)
- Squad - squad of random infantry
- Unit - random vehicle
- Invulnerability - invulnerability (duration in minutes)
- TimeQuake - time quake

- What is all this about Morse code I keep hearing?
- Well if you don't already know there's Morse Code at the bottom of every page in the Red Alert Manual
- I have decoded it and It is inside the zipfile that this FAQ came in you can also get it at

- What's this about Giant Ants?
- Inside the Morse Code it talks about Giant Ants maybe there a Hidden unit inside the game Like the
- dinos in C&C. But we may never know unless we unlock the secrets of the Morse Code

- 13. Rules.INI
- If you edit the Redalert.mix file with Word pad and search for "rules.ini" you can edit all the variables in
- the game just make a file called Rules.INI in the Red Alert Dir. and copy every thing in the mixfile from
- the Rules.INI to the credits into the Rules.INI file that's it then just edit what you want to change.

- But I have included Rules.INI with this Faq just unzip the file rulesini.zip into the RedAlert directory.
- With any text editor open rules.ini and change whatever you want. Remember to take it out before you
- play a multi-player game.

- MCP - A Movable Copter Pad on a truck
- Mole Machines - no need for a gap generator, just go underground
- Camouflaged troops - can be seen if they move etc.
- Electric Fences - tanks drive through them and troops fry.
- Everything Upgradable - higher power rockets and stuff - make it all
- upgradable to different tech. Levels
